DVA’s FLEXI-BRITE is a polish designed to quickly and easily high shine flexible, thermoplastic materials far beyond what has been previously possible. Virtually in seconds! Flexi-Brite is available in 80-gram, easy access jars and includes one 3” x 50 ply rag wheel for application. Flexi-Brite can be applied using a lathe and the normal stitched rag wheel, which is supplied, using high speed (3,450 RPM) and reasonable pressure. Background
Prior to the use of these new thermoplastic materials, most dentures were made entirely of acrylic. Partial appliances were usually made with acrylic saddles and chrome cobalt metals framework. Flexible partials offer improved aesthetics and lighter weight for enhanced patient comfort.

Over the past several years, many denture technicians have chosen to fabricate an alternative form of denture and partial appliances known to the industry as ‘Flexibles’. With regard to comfort, strength, and aesthetics, flexible partials are a step above the standard acrylic appliance. Unlike standard acrylic dentures, flexible materials are very thin and light weight, which makes them extremely comfortable for the patient to wear.

The normal procedure for polishing thermoplastic materials usually takes twenty to thirty minutes. Depending on the technician, this can be a three to six step process. The most common process contains three steps; rubber wheeling to attain a smooth surface, pre-polishing for approximately fifteen minutes, and then the final hi-shine which can take an additional fifteen minutes. These traditional polishing techniques provide only a light glare or sheen to the partial surface. DVA’s new Flexi-Brite provides a lustrous shine in one simple, fast operation.
